About Eye Movement Desensitisation And Reprocessing
EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing and is a form of evidence based therapy that can treat Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
Some argue that it is less intense than CBT for the client, but again, it is down to personal choice. In its simplest form, the therapy involves the client recalling distressing memories and carrying out specific eye movements, enabling the brain to process information.
